**Disappointing Response to a Clearly Explained Furniture Disassembly Request**

I requested a quote through Thumbtack from a company advertising its services under **“Furniture Moving and Heavy Lifting.”** called Progressive Transportation Services

My request was straightforward: professionally disassemble an Ashley Millennium North Shore king-size four-poster canopy bed on the second floor of my home and carry the **individual disassembled components** downstairs into my attached garage. I clearly explained that this was a two-person job, that no moving truck was required, and that the bed’s approximate total assembled weight was 590 pounds.

Their response stated that dispatch would need to confirm the crew size because a 590-pound item involving stairs was heavier than their standard labor crew would typically handle alone.

Seriously?

**The entire purpose of disassembling the bed is to avoid moving a 590-pound assembled piece of furniture! ** The individual posts, rails, headboard, footboard, and canopy components would be carried separately.

I was not asking anyone to carry a fully assembled canopy bed downstairs, nor was I requesting a single worker.

For a business advertising furniture moving and heavy lifting, I found this response astonishingly inattentive to the details of my request. In my opinion, this was one of the most absurd and asinine responses I have received to a straightforward service inquiry. It certainly did not inspire confidence in the company’s understanding of the job or its ability to provide an accurate quote. Seeing the Google review for Progressive Transportation Services currently showing in by browser as a Progressive Transportation Services LLC

2.7 out of three reviews, I can understand one of the reason why in my opinion.
